This archaeological site is believed to be the antediluvian port city of Debul that flourished in the 8th century A.D. This was the place where the Arab surmounter Mohammad Bin Qasim first physically contacted the shores of South Asia in 711 A.D. Here additionally, after a fierce battle with the reigning King, the Arabs consolidated their hold for subsequent expansion. Banbhore is 64 kms from Karachi.
